Renew Registration
To the Public, Registrants and Applicants. Due to the coronavirus, it may take Board staff longer to process applications and renewals than normal, though still within our statutory guidelines. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Renewal notices for professional registrations are sent the first month of the quarter in which registration is due to expire. Renewal notices for Alarm Agents, Home Inspectors, Firms, Branches and Alarm Businesses are sent approximately forty-five (45) days prior to expiration. Please note, that while the AZBTR sends renewal notices, failure to receive a notice does not mean any applicable penalty fees will be waived. It is the registrant's responsibility to renew their registration.
If you choose not to renew your registration, you may submit an inactivation form prior to your expiration date or allow your registration to lapse and subsequently cancel.
The AZBTR accepts Online Renewals through its Payment portal. The Payment Portal DOES NOT accept international credit cards (credit card must have a US billing address).

If your renewal fee is not paid before the expiration date, you become delinquent and a flat penalty fee must be added to your total renewal fee. If you are delinquent, you may not perform the duties of your discipline within the Board’s jurisdiction until you renew. There are no partial penalty fees. The penalty fee is the same if the renewal fee is a day late or 365 days late. Disciplines where delinquency may carry over one or two years will incur additional penalty fees per year (see example below for clarification). You will remain delinquent until you renew and pay the required fees. If you remain delinquent beyond your discipline’s renewal period, your registration will be canceled and you must apply as a new registrant.
Example:
You are an Engineer. Your registration expires September 30, 2016 (three-year registration period). The last day you may renew your registration before it is canceled is September 30, 2019 (three-year registration period = three-year delinquency period before cancellation). Your Renewal Fee is $225.
Not late fee window. If the Board receives your renewal fee or it's post stamped on or before September 30, 2016 there is no penalty fee.
Total owed = $225.00
One-year late fee window. If the Board receives your renewal fee between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017 there is a $37.50 penalty fee (one sixth of $225).
Total owed = $262.50
Two-year late fee window. If the Board receives your renewal fee between October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018 there is an additional $37.50 penalty fee ($75 in total penalty fees).
Total owed = $300.00
Three-year late fee window. If the Board receives your renewal fee between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019 there is an additional $37.50 penalty fee ($112.50 total).
Total owed = $337.50
Beyond Three-year late fee window. If the Board doesn’t receive your renewal fee by September 30, 2019 your registration will be cancelled and you will need to reapply as a new registrant.

What happens if I do not renew my registration?

If you are delinquent, you may not perform the duties of your discipline within the Board’s jurisdiction until you renew. Delinquency may carry over one or two years and will incur additional penalty fees per year. You will remain DELINQUENT until you renew and pay the required fees. If you remain DELINQUENT beyond your discipline’s renewal period (three years), your registration will be CANCELLED and you must apply as a new registrant.
I am a sole practitioner; do I need to register my firm with the Board?
