In recent months there have been numerous cases before the Board regarding solo-practitioner registrants. These registrants operate firms of their registered discipline but fail to register their firms. All solo practitioners in every practice area need to register their firms with the Board or they are in violation of the Board’s Practice Act. It is the registrant’s responsibility to be familiar with the statutes and rules governing their discipline. Ignorance of the statues and rules is not a defense. If you are a solo-practitioner, register your firm!
